How the Tottenham dressing room reacted after emphatic 4-0 win over Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur secured a second successive 4-0 victory in all competitions on Sunday afternoon with an encouraging display against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A brace from Real Madrid loanee Gareth Bale and solitary strikes from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura sealed an emphatic victory for Spurs, ensuring they got back to winning ways in the Premier League after last weekend's 2-1 reverse at the hands of West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Bale netted the opening goal after just two minutes before Kane doubled the lead 13 minutes later with a deflected effort.

Spurs were to make sure of the points just past the half hour mark when Brazilian star Lucas scored for the second league game in a row.

Bale, though, was to put the gloss on the victory just ten minutes into the second half when he bent home a left-footed effort, taking his tally of goals in his last four appearances in all competitions to four.

It was a solid showing from Spurs, who never looked threatened by the Clarets, meaning they moved to within one-point of seventh-placed Everton, who take on Southampton this evening.

On his side's second successive Premier League home win, head coach Jose Mourinho said: "Today was more important [than the Europa League win in midweek], because, of course, we need the victory.

"We need three points. We need three points even scoring the winning goal in minute 94, but of course winning the way we did it is even better.

"Good performance, solid performance. Easy... not easy but when you score a goal in minute two or three the situation gets a bit easier.

"To be 3-0 at half-time is also important but Burnley is the kind of team that demands the best from you until the last second, because it doesn't matter the result, they go, they go and they go until the end.

"So I'm happy with the result, with the clean sheet, with the three points and the performance was very positive."

Whilst the Portuguese chief was pleased by what he saw from his team, the players, themselves, were also satisfied with their afternoon's work.

Here, football.london has taken a close look at how some of Spurs' stars have reacted to their 4-0 triumph over the Clarets.

Having got back to winning ways in the league, Spurs will now be looking to build on the victory when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Thursday evening.

Mourinho's troops were held to a 1-1 draw by the Cottagers in the reverse fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January so will be looking to go one better this time around and record another three-point haul.
