Now that the high school football season is in full swing, here’s how the Super 25 ranked football teams fared for games Sept. 20-21.

* All Times ET (Eastern Standard Time)

1. Mater Dei, Santa Ana, California (4-0)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 at St. John’s (Washington, D.C.), 8:30 p.m. ET

2. St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (3-0)

Result: Won 36-0 vs. Miramar (Florida)

Takeaway: The Raiders pitched their second-straight shutout of the season, swarming Miramar from the opening kickoff. The Raiders didn’t allow a first down the entire game and just 21 yards of offense, all rushing. The Raiders are building a strong momentum defensively and seem to be hitting the right stride headed in to next week.

3. St. John Bosco, Bellflower, California (4-0)

Next: Sunday, Sept. 22 at Mililani (Hawaii), 12:30 a.m. ET

4. Duncanville, Texas (3-0)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 at Berkner (Richardson, Texas), 8:30 p.m. ET

5. IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida (3-0)

Next: Saturday, Sept. 21 at St. John’s (Washington, D.C.), 2 p.m. ET

6. St. Louis, Honolulu, Hawaii (5-0)

Result: Won 25-19 over Punahou (Hawaii).

Takeaway: Punahou got ahead early and gave St. Louis a scare, but Jayden de Laura and the prolific St. Louis offense showed it can get back into games. Down 10-0, St. Louis came back with help from de Laura and his leading receiver that game, Roman Wilson, who tallied 190 yards and two touchdowns.

7. Katy, Texas (3-0)

Next: Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. Clear Springs (League City, Texas), 7 p.m. ET

8. Gonzaga, Washington, District of Columbia (3-0)

Result: Won 47-8 vs. Avalon (Wheaton, Md.)

Takeaway: The score shows dominance from Gonzaga, but it’s understating just how thoroughly the Eagles dominated the game. They led 40-0 at halftime, then scored one more touchdown in the third quarter before Avalon finally got on board in the final frame. It was no contest.

9. St. Frances Academy, Baltimore, Maryland (3-1)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 at Berkner (Richardson, Texas), 8:30 p.m. ET

10. De La Salle, Concord, California (4-1)

Result: Won 35-0 vs. Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.)

Takeaway: With more than 10:30 remaining in the second quarter, De La Salle scored its 35th point of the game. There would not be another point. The Spartans simply didn’t need to score again. The offensive line was incredible for the team, as quarterback Dorian Hale and running backs Shamar Garrett and James Coby moved the ball at will. The defense didn’t allow Buchanan to do a thing, and De La Salle continues to impress.

11. Lakeland, Fla. (5-0)

Result: Won 37-6 vs. Hialeah (Florida)

Takeaway: The Dreadnaughts just missed their first shutout since their season opening win, giving up a touchdown with just over a minute left in regulation. Lakeland cornerback Kendall Dennis set the tone late in the first quarter halting Hialeah’s drive with an interception in the endzone. The Dreadnaughts were equally efficient offensively behind a strong performance from running back Demarkcus Bowman, a Clemson commit. The Dreadnaughts’ balanced attack is getting stronger by the week and will only be tougher to contend with as the season progresses.

12. John Curtis, River Ridge, Louisiana (3-0)

Result: Won 72-12 at Landry-Walker (New Orleans, La.)

Takeaway: John Curtis scored 10 touchdowns, including a pick-six, and had 422 rushing yards in its blowout of Landry-Walker. Corey Wren and Shane Goins had a combined 174 rushing yards on eight total carries on their own. The Patriots led 35-12 at the half and then put up 37 unanswered in the second, etching their 21st straight regular season victory.

13. Trinity, Louisville, Kentucky (4-1)

Result: Lost 20-17 in double overtime to Male (Louisville, Ky.)

Takeaway: Male knocked Trinity out of the semifinals last season in a one-possession game en route to a championship. The Bulldogs proved they’re still the team to beat, defeating undefeated Trinity 20-17 in double-overtime. Quarterback Elijah Parish got sacked to open double OT, but that didn’t prevent him from completing an 11-yard touchdown pass to three-star Izayah Cummings, who finished the game with six catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. What we learned >>>

14. Eastside Catholic, Sammamish, Washington (3-0)

Result: Won 21-19 vs. Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.)

Takeaway: It wasn’t intended to be a proxy Ohio State-Michigan battle, but the cross-border matchup between No. 14 Eastside Catholic and Pinnacle played out that way Friday night. In the end, future Ohio State wide receiver Gee Scott Jr. scored both his team’s first and last touchdowns as Eastside held off a series of rallies and late attempts from Michigan-bound quarterback J.D. Johnson and company to remain undefeated and set up a clear path to a perfect regular season. What we learned >>>

15. Allen, Texas (4-0)

Result: Won 56-20 at Plano (Texas)

Takeaway: Quarterback Raylen Sharpe threw three touchdowns in the first quarter as Allen took a 28-0 lead by the end of the first frame and wouldn’t come close to relinquishing it in the convincing win over Plano — the Eagles’ 14th straight over the Wildcats. Allen is now 4-0 and is averaging more than 40 points per contest.

16. Pickerington (Ohio) Central (3-1)

Lost 19-14 at Groveport-Madison (Ohio)

Takeaway: A week after putting up 49 points, the Pickerington Central offense could not get going. Defensive pressure got to quarterback Demeatric Crenshaw, who was sacked at a couple important junctures, including the second-to-last play of the possession to lead to a 4th-and-13, and Groveport did enough on offense to complement the defensive effort. Pickerington Central scored 14 in the second quarter — but with a nine-point fourth quarter, Groveport was able to complete the comeback.

17. Grayson, Georgia (4-0)

Result: Won 35-21 vs. Westlake (Atlanta)

Takeaway: No lead is safe when you’re playing the Rams; last week they scored 14 unanswered points to upset then No. 5 Marietta (Ga.), and this week they reeled off 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to take command against Westlake. The Rams can’t keep playing from behind, but with a solid defense and a talented running back like Lafayette Gurvin Jr., Grayson has the talent to remain in contention no matter what the scoreboard says. The Rams will need all hands on deck in next week’s meeting with Colquitt County (Norman, Park, Ga.).

18. Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas, Nevada (3-1)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 vs. Silverado (Las Vegas), 10 p.m. ET

19. Highland Springs, Virginia (4-0)

Result: Won 54-13 vs. North Stafford (Va.)

Takeaway: There were simply too many weapons to stop. Seven Highland Springs players scored touchdowns and three-star junior quarterback Jamareeh Jones threw for 176 yards on only six completions. Highland Springs has now scored 40 or more points in three of the four games and had 54 in two of them.

20. Marietta, Georgia (3-1)

Next: Friday, Oct. 4 vs. Edgewater (Orlando, Fla.), 7 p.m. ET

21. St. Joseph Regional, Montvale, New Jersey (2-0)

Next: Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.), 1 p.m.

22. Chandler, Arizona (4-0)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 vs. Desert Ridge (Mesa, Ariz.), 10 p.m. ET

23. North Shore, Galena Park, Texas (2-1)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 vs. La Porte (Texas), 8 p.m. ET

24. Muskegon, Michigan (4-0)

Result: Won 58-0 vs. Kenowa Hills (Grand Rapids, Mich.)

25. Bergen Catholic, Oradell, New Jersey (1-0)

Next: Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey City, N.J.), 1 p.m.
