Result: Won 42-39 at Edna Karr (New Orleans, Louisiana)

Takeaway: This was a matchup of Louisiana juggernauts and the 18th-ranked Patriots came out on top, ending Karr’s 27-game winning streak. Curtis quarterback Collin Guggenheim may not be one of the highest ranked recruits in the country but he is just as effective as some of the top signal callers in his class. The Patriots will need to lean heavily on him this year. Things we learned >>

22. Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas, Nevada (1-1)

Result: Won 38-7 vs. Ridge Point (Missouri City, Texas)

Takeaway: The Mustangs are still not firing on all cylinders but were able to get their first win of the season after dropping the season opener last week to Katy (Texas). North Shore quarterback Dematrius Davis was forced to shoulder the load with ALL-USA First Team running back Zach Evans and four-star wide receiver Shadrach Banks were forced to sit out.
