‘How the mob does it’: Top Trump officials meet to discuss Epstein at JD Vance’s house … for some reason

California U.S. House Representative Eric Swalwell has responded to reports that several top Trump officials will meet at J.D. Vances house to “discuss the Trump admin’s strategy relating to Jeffrey Epstein.” Swalwell called it a “family meeting” and added, “This is how the mob does it, too.”

According to CNN‘s Alayna Treene, Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, J.D. Vance, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche are expected to attend the meeting on the evening of August 6, 2025, at “Vance’s residence” to discuss stategy and get on the same page on the Epstein case.

The meeting comes while the Trump administration considers releasing more information related to Epstein. This includes grand jury testimony. But possibly also an audio recording and transcript of Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell’s recent interview with Deputy AG Blanche.

“Missing from this group is, of course, any survivor”

When news of the meeting broke, Epstein survivor, Virginia Giuffre’s family, who died by suicide this year, shared a statement. “Missing from this group is, of course, any survivor of the vicious crimes of convicted perjurer and sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. Their voices must be heard, above all,” Giuffre’s brothers said.

“As Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s siblings, we offer to represent her in her stead, and we hope the administration takes our call to action seriously,” the statement added. “Any information that may be released by the government should take into account the survivors who wish to remain anonymous, for their safety and well-being. They should be consulted first.”

The Giuffre family continued, “We reiterate that Ghislaine Maxwell should have remained in a maximum security prison and does not deserve the luxuries currently afforded her.”

Someone responded to Swalwell’s post, comparing the plan to the mafia, “If you have to meet to strategize around the Epstein file, it’s not exoneration: it’s self-preservation. MAGA has traded integrity, truth, and even basic decency just to cling to power. What’s left of a party when it gives up everything to win?”

Vance’s team: “What meeting?”

But after CNN’s report was released, Vance’s Director of Communications, William Martin, denied it was real. “The CNN story is pure fiction,” Martin’s statement said. ‘There was never a supposed meeting scheduled at the Vice President’s residence to discuss Epstein Strategy.” According to a comment on what Martin said, “So basically it happened.”
