How The Masked Singer fans rumbled Lenny Henry before he was unmasked as Blob

The Masked Singer viewers have been obsessed with trying to determine the identity of Blob ever since they took to the stage earlier this month.

Following tonight's performance, the majority of viewers still seemed convinced that the mystery character is Lenny Henry.

Of course, the character was also unmasked this evening and viewers were correct.

Prior to his big reveal tonight, the comedian sang Addicted To Love and also gave away some new cryptic clues.

"I love to cook as much as I love to sing, and it is said if music be the food of love play on," the character said.

He then added: "People love a bad boy, but I'm more interested in doing good."

However, the biggest clue which reinforced several viewers' theories was Blob appearing at the Globe theatre.

Blob (PA)

" #TheMaskedSingerUK Blob is Lenny Henry. Apart from the fact it sounds like nobody else but Lenny Henry, he’s done Othello and played at The Globe," wrote one viewer.

Another wrote: "He was Othello but it showed The Globe Theatre in London it's so Lenny Henry."

"The two I am certain about are Blob is Lenny Henry and Robin is Aston Merrigold! #MaskedSingerUK," added a third.

In the last few weeks, there have been lots of clues about the purple vision that have kept the viewers and judges guessing.

Blob is heavily rumoured to be Lenny Henry (ITV)

In the VT during Lenny's first performance, Blob described himself as "big, bright and loud" before adding he wears glasses, joking: "Oh and it’s not the first time I’ve been called four eyes."

Blob added: "As a kid, I wanted to be James Bond or Batman but instead I became the Blob.”

This lead to Rita thinking he might be a kids’ TV presenter, while Davina said he could be an actor.

While the judges seemed none the wiser, Lenny's unveil tonight might not have been much of a surprise to viewers.
