How The James Harden Trade Impacts Nets’ And 76ers’ Odds To Win 2021-22 NBA Title

In the aftermath of the blockbuster James Harden-for-Ben Simmons trade, the Brooklyn Nets remain among the favorites to win the NBA championship, while the Philadelphia 76ers’ odds shortened dramatically.

Per betonline.ag, the 76ers had 14/1 odds before the trade, and now they are down to 7/1.

Brooklyn’s odds barely moved as they went from 4/1 to 5/1.

“Upon news of the trade, we saw the 76ers price shorten in both the NBA Championship and Eastern Conference winner markets,” Mitch Robson, lead NBA Editor at Sports Betting Dime, said via email.

“Their championship odds were the most significant move, from an average of +2100 to as short as +650. As for Brooklyn, they remain the NBA title favorite at many books, but their odds did fade much closer to the pack and just barely ahead of the Golden State Warriors.”

For his part, Robson said he likes the Phoenix Suns, who own the NBA’s best record at 45-10.

“Despite the moves made by the Eastern contenders today, I still like the Phoenix Suns at +500 (FanDuel),” he said. “Holders of an NBA-best 45-10 record, they are humming on all cylinders right now – and barring an injury to [Devin] Booker, [Chris] Paul or [Deandre] Ayton – will enter the postseason with the most continuity of all the contenders.”

Per betonline.ag, Golden State was the favorite Wednesday and the Warriors remained in the driver’s seat following the trade, followed by Brooklyn and Phoenix.
