How the Fulham dressing room reacted to 'slip' which hands Newcastle United a huge opportunity

Fulham's dressing room were left 'devastated' after Adama Traore's injury-time winner denied the Cottagers the chance to leapfrog Newcastle United.

That's the view of defender Antonee Robinson, who admits Scott Parker's let the opportunity to drag the Magpies into the relegation zone 'slip'.

Fulham needed a victory in their Friday night encounter with Wolves to overhaul Newcastle and climb out of the bottom three.

However, the hosts struggled to fashion any opportunities to take the lead and were punished by Traore's emphatic strike in the 91st minute.

United could go six points clear of Fulham with a victory at Burnley on Sunday while also boasting two games in hand.

It was a setback described by Parker as a 'hammer blow', and Robinson echoed his manager while also reiterating the need to quickly 'bounce back' ahead of their final six matches.

The defender told BT Sport: "All of the lads know we've let something slip there.

"It's a chance to get out of the bottom three, it's a chance to put on a good performance and win a game, and we haven't taken it unfortunately.

"We've battled, everyone has given everything for 90 minutes and I feel like we've played well. We've just let it slip at the end, and it's really devastating.

"I feel like you look around the changing room at every single man involved, even the staff and the subs on the bench trying to will us on, no-one could have given anymore tonight.

"Unfortunately it wasn't enough. It wasn't our night, but if we keep that same fighting spirit looking forward we've got to be optimistic and bounce back."
