How the final Championship table would look for Leeds United if the season is ended

The EFL have confirmed that league tables will be decided by an unweighted points-per-game system if the 2019/20 season is curtailed.

Championship clubs have reiterated their desire to finish the season but doubt remains in League One and League Two.

An EFL statement on Friday confirmed that: "In the event of a curtailment of the season, the EFL Board outlined how this could be addressed through a framework that includes maintaining the principle of promotion and relegation, league tables to be determined via unweighted points per game (PPG) and Play-Offs to remain in every division to determine the final promotion place."

That handed a welcome boost to Leeds United and West Brom, who would be guaranteed a place in the Premier League for next season if the season doesn't end.

The Whites hold a seven-point gap over third-place Fulham whilst Slaven Bilic's men are just one point behind.

Based on average points, both clubs would remain in the top two and return to the top-flight of English football.

At the bottom of the table, things look bleak for Charlton Athletic, Barnsley and Luton Town, who all face an immediate drop back to League One.

Only three points separate Charlton in 22nd and Stoke City in 17th place, which would signal the most controversial relegation in recent history.

However, the EFL board are considering a request from League Two to suspend relegation after they opted to curtail their season.

If that was agreed, it could set a precedent for League One and the Championship, if they were unable to fulfil their fixture list.

Here's how the 2019/20 Championship table would look based on a points-per-game average.
