2021 hasn’t exactly started how we’d all hoped.
On Monday, January 4, the UK was plunged into a third national lockdown due to soaring coronavirus rates.
Boris Johnson announced the tough measures which are expected to be in place at least until the end of February.
Schools, pubs and restaurants, pretty much anything people find enjoyment from have all been forced to close until further notice.
Even the weather hasn’t been kind to us. Despite the odd few days of snow, the region has been battered by Storm Christoph which has caused flooding and major disruption.

It’s not been all doom and gloom however. In the fight against Covid, thousands of vaccination centres have been set up across the country with millions of vulnerable people already receiving their first jab.

A mention also needs to be given to Marine AFC, who played the biggest match in their 149 year history against Tottenham Hotspur in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.
Marine went down 5-0 but in the end, the result didn’t matter. The match was a celebration of what makes football great, giving the younger generation of Marine fans’ something to shout about.

And in the city centre, film crews took to Exchange Flags for a mystery filming project which brought some excitement to the area.
