How the Chelsea dressing room reacted to commanding Champions League win over Stade Rennes

Chelsea were comfortable winners in last night's Champions League bout with Stade Rennes.

Frank Lampard's side were already ahead when they benefitted from a red card with Timo Werner twice on the scoresheet from the penalty spot before Tammy Abraham rounded off a commanding 3-0 win.

Thiago Silva, Ngolo Kante and Hakim Ziyech were all in action for the Blues with Emerson Palmeiri, Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mateo Kovacic all featuring from the bench.

Chelsea boss Lampard said after the game: "I enjoyed it tonight and I like the sound of that. It shows what we're doing and the direction we're going in at the moment. It was a tough game tonight. I certainly respected Rennes as an outfit. A very good team.

"But we did the right things in the game in every aspect. We started well, got our goals and saw the game out well. That gave us a chance to get some minutes in the backend of the game.

"I'm very pleased. We have to keep going in the same vein as we're going at the minute."

And here is how the Chelsea dressing room reacted to last night's triumph...

The win maintained Chelsea's unbeaten start to life in the Champions League this term following their 0-0 draw with Sevilla and their 4-0 win over Russian side Krasnodar.

Lampard's side lead the way in their group with seven points having scored seven goals and conceded zero during their three early games.
