Chelsea's fine run continued on Saturday night as Frank Lampard's side eased past Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge.
Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell were all on target but it was Hakim Ziyech who stole the show with a strong showing from midfield.
Lampard, delighted with the result, said at full-time: "People were looking at where we were at and people were very quick to look at goals conceded or not getting the wins.
"I think people expected that pretty quickly if I’m honest and I didn't. we had some injuries and we had the idea of people coming in and had to work to get better very quickly.
"I think now with the performance today it was our best performance of the season for sure, in complete terms.
"We’re in a good place but there’s a level that’s been set by Liverpool and City in the last few years means you have to be in that good place every game and every week and that’s the gap that we have to close.
"I certainly won’t jump ahead of myself, albeit I’m very pleased with a lot of the signs today," he added.
Here is how his Chelsea players reacted to the result and to Ziyech's start-studded performance.
Ziyech said: "[We] fought our way back into the game and got the job done. Great team performance."
And Tammy Abraham said: "That one felt good!"
The win has lifted Chelsea to fifth in the Premier League and extended their stellar unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions, five of which have been wins.
Next up for Lampard's side will be Newcastle United, but not before the players have represented their countries during the international break.
That trip to St. James' park will be followed by crucial games against Rennes, Tottenham, Sevilla and Leeds.
