How the Chelsea dressing room reacted after Champions League draw with Sevilla

Chelsea's Champions League campaign kicked off last night with a goalless draw against Sevilla at Stamford Bridge.

Edouard Mendy was back in action behind a defence of Reece James, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell as they displayed a great improvement at the back from the 3-3 draw against Southampton on Saturday.

And Chelsea were rewarded, against Europa League winning opposition, with their third clean sheet of the season.

Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Mason Mount were all involved in west London with Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech, his second outing in Chelsea blue, all involved from the bench.

Mendy caught the eye with an impressive close-range save from a header, deflected off Zouma, while there was no doubt having Thiago Silva back in the side saw the Blues build from a more solid foundation.

Here is what the players involved last night had to say about the game and the performance on Instagram...

But there is no time to rest for Chelsea who face the tough test of a trip to Old Trafford on Saturday night to take on a Manchester United side who were winners in Paris last night.

Marcus Rashford struck late to get his side's European campaign off to the perfect start, inflicting Paris Saint Germain's first home defeat in the group stages of the Champions League since 2004.

And then Chelsea will be back in Europe next week as they face Krasnodar in Russia.
