How the bookies see the promotion race panning out after Leeds United move back into top two

Championship football returned with a bang on Friday evening as West Brom fought back from behind to defeat local rivals Birmingham City 3-2 at the Hawthorns.

The victory for Jimmy Shan’s side puts the Baggies just four points short of Sheffield United in the second automatic promotion spot, although the Blades and the rest of their rivals are still to play this weekend.

Things took another sharp turn at the top of table on Saturday afternoon as both Elland Road and Bramwell Lane saw five goal thrillers. Unfortunately, for Blades fans it wasn’t their day as they not only fell 3-2 to Bristol City, but saw Leeds enact an unlikely comeback against Millwall at home to emerge victorious by the same scoreline.

League leaders Norwich kept up their pace at the top of the table by recording a narrow 1-0 win over Middlesbrough and as such it sees them still tagged as favourites to go up.
