How the bookies reacted to the latest twist in the Championship promotion race

We are now in the business end of the Championship season, with just six games remaining until the end of the season.

Norwich City look almost certain to finish as champions after edging closer to the title by sweeping aside Queens Park Rangers in a comfortable 4-0 win, while Leeds United’s defeat to Birmingham City allowed Sheffield United to reclaim second spot.

That could prove to be decisive, as the latest odds from Oddschecker show that Marcelo Bielsa’s side have drifted to 4/7 to clinch promotion to the Premier League - with the Blades tipped ahead of them at 1/3.

With the fight for a spot in the playoffs continuing, Bristol City are among the main beneficiaries of results this weekend and are now priced at 7/1 to earn promotion, while Middlesbrough’s loss of form has seen them drift to as much as 20/1.

At the foot of the table, Rotherham United are the favourites to join Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers in League One next season as their latest price is 8/11, with Reading tipped at 9/4 to suffer relegation.
