Arsenal secured the best preparation possible ahead of Thursday evening's huge UEFA Europa League quarter-final second-leg against Slavia Prague by beating Sheffield United 3-0 at Bramall Lane in the Premier League last night.
A brace from leading marksman Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Martinelli's first Premier League goal of the campaign sealed a routine win for the Gunners, bringing an end to their four-game winless run in the process.
Lacazette set the ball rolling, firing the Gunners ahead just past the half hour mark, before Martinelli netted his first goal since January last year with 19 minutes remaining.
Lacazette then doubled his tally for the evening, wrapping up the points once and for all by netting the Gunners' third with just five minutes to go.
In truth, Arsenal were always expected to get the better of a Blades side who have been rock-bottom of the pile for the whole season. However, as has been proven in the past on many occasions by many clubs across the world, playing against a team who are rock bottom is not always straight forward.
However, it was a thoroughly professional showing from the Gunners and manager Mikel Arteta was pleased with what he saw from his players, ensuring they started a massive few days with a victory.
"I think we had a really strong performance," said Arteta in his post-match press call. "A clean sheet which was needed after a long run without it.
"They were very efficient, intelligent and composed with the ball which I'm really pleased with. We showed great cohesion, understanding and it was the right attitude so I'm very happy."
Although Arsenal were always likely to make the trip back to north London with all three points in the bag, the players have most certainly enjoyed the victory, putting themselves in a strong shape of mind ahead of Thursday's tussle with Prague.

Next up for the Gunners, of course, is Thursday's season-defining encounter with Slavia in the Czech Republic. The second-leg will kick-off with the scores level at 1-1, but the Czech champions do have the advantage of having scored an away-goal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.
Regardless of the outcome on Thursday night, the Gunners will resume their Premier League campaign at home to Fulham on Sunday ahead of hosting Everton on April 23.
