How teenage Man Utd fan tricked Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher with cheeky picture

Jamie Carragher was superbly trolled by a young Manchester United fan during the week - and knew nothing about it.

Carragher was at Old Trafford to watch United take on Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final double-header on Wednesday night.

The Liverpool legend watched the action, which ended in a 1-0 win for the visitors, in the Directors' Box in the Sir Bobby Charlton stand.

He was more than happy to pose for a picture with 13-year-old United fan Molly Kay, who follows her team home and away.

But there was a twist, as the youngster secretly had 20 times - the number of league titles United have won - written on her hand.

"I said to Molly 'Go and have a photo with him'," Molly's dad, Stevie, told Manchester Evening News .

"She had one with Tyson Fury first and then Eamonn Holmes. I said 'Go and have a photo with Carragher' and she said 'I'm not having a photo with him, he's a Scouser!'

"So I said 'write 20 times on your hand and go and have it with your hand showing'. I went to take the photo first and it didn't take so we had to go and ask him again.”

Carragher was unaware of the hilarious joke at the time, but appears to have taken it well after it was flagged to him on social media.

"He didn't know anything about it until someone put it on Twitter and tagged him in it,” Stevie added.

“He retweeted it and commented as well. He's taken it in good spirits to be fair to him!

"Molly's buzzing, she's over the moon. She's Man United mad, she goes all over with me home and away."

It was a tough night on the pitch for United as Luis Suarez's header off the back of Luke Shaw secured a 1-0 victory for the Spanish visitors.
