Why settle for a plain ‘ol mini bar with some peanuts and a piece of chocolate?
Only in Paris – the land of the gourmet – can you enjoy goodies – complimentary – thanks to a minibar that is completely “off the hook.” (Guy Fieri fans, you know what I mean.)
That’s because the Fauchon Hotel, which opened in Paris just one year ago, offers a Gourmet Bar offering all the yummies you would expect from a hotel named after the famous gourmet store.
A little background: Fauchon is so successful because it has always embraced bold modernization and excellence. It has always been a true innovator in the world of Pâtisserie — always at the forefront of creating something new, different, and brilliant. Fauchon continually maintains a commitment to nurturing rising young chefs with an innate talent for genius. Both Pierre Hermé and Christophe Adam were previous emerging talents in pâtisserie, who were recognized and nurtured by Fauchon. (If you’ve ever had a macaron, you have, no doubt, witnessed the brilliance of Pierre Herme, who in 2016, was named the World’s Best Pastry Chef.)
And now the Fauchon evolution continues…with the magnificent inspiration to house all Fauchon products and culinary experiences under one roof in significant capitals around the world. The objective is to enable locals and travelers alike the opportunity to indulge in everything Fauchon both day and night.
Mais oui, now you can enjoy everything Fauchon without a trip to the beloved store. Besides beautiful rooms, the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris offers an indescribably delicious — and now iconic — Gourmet Bar. It is indeed the “star of the show.” Considered by many to be a “minibar on steroids,” guests enjoy complimentary access to a wide variety of Fauchon goodies which can include foie gras, cheese, crackers, cookies, sweets, champagne, and more! The Gourmet Bar is restocked daily and what is not consumed during a guest’s stay can be packed up for them to take home or onward with them. (Yes, you can take it with you.) The estimated retail value of what is available daily in the Gourmet Bar is in excess of €160. Prior to arrival, travelers can indicate if they want the contents to be salty, sweet, healthy, or a combination.
What do hotel industry insiders think of the gourmet bar? Well, I, for one, just love it and look forward to experiencing it someday. But that’s just my humble opinion. But I truly believe it’s a game-changer in the hotel industry. Another big fan is Anthony Melchiorri, the world’s ultimate “hotel guy” who is the creator of the hit TV show Hotel Impossible. (You can see the wildly popular show on the Destination America channel every Sunday.) “I love the idea from a creativity standpoint,” says Mr. Melchiorri. “To have that level of culinary in my room is fantastic. You have to stand out at that high end of the spectrum. That idea gets you and me to talk about it.”
September 1st marked the first anniversary of the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris, and to honor the milestone, the property has just introduced a special Anniversary Celebration Package.
Guests who book a minimum two-night stay in any of the hotel’s suites (Deluxe, Duplex, or Prestige) will receive daily breakfast for two at The Grand Cafe Fauchon, and a complimentary three-course Chef Dinner for two with a glass of champagne at The Grand Cafe Fauchon. This offer is applicable to new bookings only, cannot be combined with any other offer, and effective through December 30th, 2019. Suite rates at the property begin at €900 per night.
Fauchon L’Hotel Paris is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, and opened in September of 2018 as a place for “discerning hedonists” who enjoy the pursuit of pleasure and sensual self-indulgence. The 54-room boutique hotel is located in one of the most beautiful Haussmanian buildings in the glamorous 8th Arrondissement and features distinctive “Fauchon” decor and contemporary French art. The property features The Grand Café Fauchon with inside and outside dining, the Jardin Des Thés, Carita Beauty Spa, Fitness Center, and a variety of original Gourmet Moments.
So, what to do after you consume all those wonderful treats? Burn them off in the best way possible. As another Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris exclusive, guests of the hotel who love to run can enjoy the Sports Coach Service for jogging.
This is definitely an incredible opportunity to live like a Parisian, because every morning and every evening, the hotel’s designated Sports Coach — sometimes it may even be the hotel General Manager — will take you for a jog along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and to the Tuileries Garden. Who wouldn’t love to jog with a tour guide along one of the most iconic boulevards in Paris, which runs between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the legendary Arc de Triomphe is located?
The Champs-Elysées is known for its theatres, cafés, and luxury shops. The beloved Tuileries Garden is a public garden located between the Louvre Museum and the Place de la Concorde where Parisians have celebrated, met, strolled, and relaxed for centuries.
Yes, this way you can definitely have your Fauchon gateau – and eat it too. Incroyable!
TODAY’S TRAVEL TIP
I don’t know about you, but I get a bad case of dry skin when I fly. I called it “parched peau” and “dehydrated dermis” and there’s nothing worse when you exit a plane. Dry facial skin can easily add 10 years to your looks. I just discovered a fabulous product – for men and women – that you can apply to your face on the airplane, and it doesn’t matter if you’re flying Economy or First Class – or even on your private jet.
It’s Thrive Causemetics’ Overnight Sensation Skin Brightening Mask, and it’s lustre-filled to make your face luminous. If you’re a woman, forget about wearing makeup. And if you’re a man, apply it to your face too. It imparts a youthful glow and is filled with hyaluronic acid and melatonin to magnify all the moisture on your face while you sleep. It’s a mask – but not a sheet mask, so you won’t look weird when the flight attendant passes out the peanuts. Your face will look refreshed and like you got eight hours’ of sleep as you exit the jetway. You’ll be bright – especially in the City of Light. Even better, for every product purchased, Thrive Causemetics makes a donation to help women thrive and survive domestic violence and homelessness.
