How Swansea City boss Steve Cooper rates their play-off chances as they prey for Nottingham Forest collapse

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper is refusing to give up on his side's play-off hopes after they kept their promotion push alive.

Barring a dramatic collapse from Nottingham Forest, who would have to lose their final two games by significant margins, the final play-off place is set to come down to a Welsh shoot-out between Cardiff and Swansea.

Cardiff need only a point from their final game at home to a doomed Hull City team after beating Middlesbrough 3-1 on Saturday, while Swansea face Reading fresh from a tense 1-0 win over Bristol City.

Forest go to Barnsley on Sunday and then face a Stoke City side buoyed by beating Brentford.

Hull are all but relegated after suffering a fifth defeat in a row against Luton, but Cooper is banking on the unpredictability of the second tier.

"In the Championship, we know that anything can happen," Cooper said.

"All we can do is take care of our business and try and win at Reading. Hopefully, we can play as well as we did here.

"We have really seen our younger players grow up in recent weeks. Even in the down moments - which you have to go through to be a first team player - they have come through well."

Wales defender Connor Roberts ended his 15-month goal drought to score a first-half stoppage time winner.

Bristol City had the chance to equalise from the penalty spot after 69 minutes but substitute Famara Diedhiou, who had only come on the pitch seconds earlier, hit the woodwork.
