How strong is the supporting cast for Giants QB Daniel Jones?

The New York Giants have their next franchise quarterback set in Daniel Jones, but after years (nearly a decade) of failing to supply the now-retired Eli Manning with a solid supporting cast, have they done enough to surround the Duke product with quality talent?

Some would argue they are still lacking at the wide receiver position, but after a complete offensive line rebuild and the addition of some serious speed, the Giants have seen some more optimistic takes on their current supporting cast.

A year ago, Bleacher Report ranked the Giants’ supporting cast near the bottom of the league — No. 26 overall. But this year? Things are very different.

12. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

The Giants could have a top-10 offense in 2020, though a lot will hinge on Jones and Darius Slayton’s development. The latter could emerge as the No. 1 wideout Jones lacked in 2019, as he caught 48 passes for a team-high 740 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

If Slayton can make a big second-year jump, so will Jones and the New York offense as a whole.

In addition to Slayton, Jones will also have tight end Evan Engram, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard to rely on. And in case you missed it, they make up the fastest 11 personnel in the league.

Beyond the top group, Jones also has a talented and revamped offensive line in front of him, as well as additional weapons in tight end Kaden Smith, running back Dion Lewis and wide receiver Corey Coleman to work with.

The key for the Giants will be health. If they can keep all of these players on the field for a full 16 games, the sky is the limit.
