Tottenham have already used the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad.
Jose Mourinho has added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty as he prepares for the 2020/21 Premier League and Europa League campaign.
Spurs are on the lookout for more additions ahead of the end of the transfer window which closes in just under a month’s time.
One of the players to be linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Donny Van de Beek.
However, the midfielder signed for Manchester United last week, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
That was despite the efforts of Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn, who did his best to convince his international teammate about a move to Spurs.
“Steven Bergwijn texted me to see whether I would play for Spurs,” he told Algemeen Dagblad (via Evening Express ).
“But I chose United.”
Van de Beek played a total of 37 times for Ajax last season, scoring 10 goals, providing 11 assists and catching the eyes of teams around Europe.
And the 23-year-old explained his decision to move to Old Trafford this summer.
"I felt ready for the next step. This was the time to go. That is why I was on the phone with my agent last weekend. In the end, there was an agreement."
