How Steelers HC Mike Tomlin plans to deal with Kenny Pickett’s proneness to injury

Injuries are part of the NFL. Unfortunately for Kenny Pickett, they’ve come far too often in his young 24-game career.

Just as he does with the Pittsburgh Steelers opponents, Mike Tomlin plans to deal with his proneness to injury on a case-by-case basis.

“I don’t know if we’re viewing it as something that’s chronic, particularly with something like an ankle injury,” Tomlin said during his Monday press conference. “We’re just dealing with this on a case-by-case basis as we sit here right now.”

The high ankle sprain marks the seventh time Pickett has exited a game injured and the third time this season alone.

Tomlin didn’t have any update on how long Pickett will be sidelined, only to say that Mitch Trubisky will be the starter versus the New England Patriots on Thursday.

He has no concern about Pickett’s injury being season-ending.
