How Jose Mourinho's Tottenham team with new signings could look after transfer deadline day

The clock is ticking down for Jose Mourinho and Tottenham to complete any further business in the January transfer window.

Having added to his squad already this month with the additions of Gedson Fernandes and Steven Bergwijn, as well as the permanent signing of Giovani Lo Celso, the Spurs head coach will be hoping a new striker comes in through the door before the 11pm deadline.

It is now a month since Harry Kane sustained a hamstring injury at Southampton on New Year's Day and the club haven't been able to bring a new frontman in so far.

Olivier Giroud is the latest name to be linked with a switch prior to the window closing until the summer, although that may be a hard one to complete given Chelsea would be selling to a direct rival in the race for a Champions League spot.

It's not just incomings we could see at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on deadline day as some players could also head out the exit door.

Moving on Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters already this week, there are question marks over what will happen with Victor Wanyama, Juan Foyth, Troy Parrott and Olivier Skipp before the end of the day.

Spurs' squad now looks rather different than it did on January 1 and the new additions could prove key in the race for a Champions League spot.

But what could Mourinho's starting XI look like between now and the end of the season?

New signing Bergwijn goes straight into the side and he plays in a front three alongside Giroud and Son Heung-min, with Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli all capable of making a big impact in the final third from midfield.

Defence stays pretty much the same as it has been in recent weeks as Japhet Tanganga continues at left-back in the absence of Ben Davies.

Here's the team we believe could be Mourinho's best XI over the remaining games.

(4-3-3) Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Ndombele, Alli; Bergwijn, Giroud, Son.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Dier, Sessegnon, Winks, Gedson, Lamela, Lucas.
