How Spurs' 7 loan players are doing plus the latest on Jack Clarke and Kazaiah Sterling's injury

Tottenham have seven loan players out on loan across the Football League but how are they doing away from Mauricio Pochettino's nest?

Spurs are keeping a check on their young starlets as many of them make their first strides in the professional game and others are building up their first team experience in the Championship.

Here is how they're getting on in their new adventures:

Jack Clarke

It's less of a new adventure for Spurs' £9m summer signing and more of a nightmare as he continues to struggle to get into Leeds' matchday squad because of the rule that only five loan players can be named and the club have six on their books.

The 18-year-old has not made United's last six Championship matchday squads.

Tottenham do have a recall option to bring back Clarke in January if they believe the loan spell isn't working out for the youngster, but

However, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa said this week: "Always the source of the news is the most important. When you have a team of 20 players, you give a lot of opportunity to each of those 20 players," he said.

"I am really satisfied with Jack Clarke's development, he’s at a good fitness level. Technically he is complete and his attitude is very good.

"He competes with Costa, Hernandez, Harrison. If one of them are left in the team and Clarke is participating after - we were going to listen to news about Costa, Hernandez, Harrison.

"I am satisfied working with Clarke and I am sure he’s going to be necessary and important for us. The only way to answer to this news is if Clarke is saying that or some authority of Tottenham."

Clarke did impress on Friday as Leeds' U23s going down 2-1 to Hull City.

Our colleagues at Leeds Live were keeping a close eye on the teenager and were impressed by his performance despite the result.

"Bielsa took the opportunity yesterday to insist that Clarke's attitude is good despite his lack of first-team action and the winger's effort levels could not be faulted today. He was Leeds' chief attacking threat, looking lively and dangerous, and did not stop running for 90 minutes.

"His final ball was sometimes off, but his performance will have ticked plenty of boxes for Bielsa," said Leeds United editor Joe Mewis before giving the player a rating of 7, the joint highest mark among the Leeds players with fellow midfielder Alfie McCalmont.

Luke Amos

The 22-year-old midfielder was a regular for QPR, making five appearances since completing his switch on loan this summer but an injury has meant he had missed three out of the last four matches.

QPR boss Mark Warburton believes that Amos will soon be back in action.

"Luke Amos is fit and well and training, he had a bit of tightening," he said at the weekend.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

The 21-year-old USA international has begun to get some regular game time as Stoke City, playing in three of their past four Championship matches.

On Saturday the centre-back kept a clean sheet as Stoke played out a goalless draw at Brentford.

Carter-Vickers now has five appearances to his name for Stoke.

Kazaiah Sterling

A dead leg has interrupted Kazaiah Sterling's progress at League One side Doncaster Rovers.

The 20-year-old striker's first four matches brought one goal and one assist but that dead leg picked up in Rovers’ win over Rotherham United earlier this month has kept him out since.

Rovers boss Darren Moore said ahead of Saturday's match with Peterborough United: "Kazaiah is still out. We've tried him and its just not at the right stage.

"It's the classic one that we’re just not going to risk him. It’s still the dead leg. It's just one of them.

"It caught him flush in the muscle. There was a lot of swelling on it and we had to reduce the swelling down. Once you reduce the swelling down, it’s about getting the muscles active again.

"We want him to spring. He’s an electrifying player as we know and he’s explosive. That is where we feel the bit of problem may lie, if he was to be explosive. That is what we fear and we can’t take that chance.

"I’ll leave it down to the medical team. When he’s right and he’s fit, they’ll let me know."

Anthony Georgiou

Georgiou was an unused substitute on Saturday for Ipswich Town in their match at Gillingham but has been getting Football League experience under his belt for the League One table-toppers.

The 22-year-old has made five appearances, all from the bench, for Paul Lambert's Tractor Boys.

Jack Roles

It has been a week to remember for 20-year-old Jack Roles. He scored his first ever senior goal as a professional footballer on Tuesday night to help turn Cambridge's League Two match against Mansfield which they went on to win 4-0.

He then started Saturday's game against Swindon Town but came off with just over 15 minutes to go as Colin Calderwood's men lost 1-0.

George Marsh

The versatile 20-year-old has gone from being an unused substitute at the beginning of Leyton Orient's season to a starter in each of their past three matches.

Marsh's Orient team-mate Louis Dennis said after the young midfielder's first two starts: "100 per cent [he can go on a run of starts], I said to him after the [first] game that's a very hard game to come into and get your first start, and I think he did very well in there.

"He screened the back four well, putting in tackles, and I felt he did very well."
