How Scott Brown prepared for Celtic departure as Stephen Glass insists midfielder 'knows what's coming'

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass says summer signing Scott Brown has been putting in the hours to learn as a coach while at Celtic.

And he's adamant the departing Parkhead captain will contribute just as much off the pitch as on it.

Brown is nearing the finish line for his UEFA A License and Glass is adamant he's been putting in maximum effort into preparing for that side of the game just as he does on match day.

With his 36th birthday coming next month, both player and manager know he's deep into the twilight of his career.

Even still, Glass insists Brown's arrival in the Granite City proves what a massive club the Dons truly are - but wants his new midfield general to savour the final weeks of his time at Celtic and however many remaining years he has left as a player.

He said: " Scott Brown coming to join us is huge. The fact that he wants to come shows me how big this club is.

"Scott has done his bits and pieces and is very close to finishing his A Licence.

"If people are not in the spotlight coaching, people think they are not coaching.

"That has almost happened with myself a wee bit. However, Scott is doing his hours coaching.

"He is maybe concentrating more on the football side now, because he knows what’s coming.

"As you get further on in your career, you have to focus on the playing side. However, it is important that people are not pigeonholing him into something that he is not.

"Scott is going to be a very, very good coach. He is probably a good coach already, I need to see it first hand, but I know what we are getting."
