Savvy shopper saves whopping £168 by using incredible Wilko blinds

A woman who was inspired to do her own blinds after being quoted £180 by a professional company has suggested everyone else follow in her footsteps.

Posting on Facebook , Jodiie Cross said she was given a quote of almost £200 after calling a firm in to measure her windows for an estimate.

So in true DIY style, she went to Wilko and picked up three blinds in almost exactly the same design for just £12.

Sharing her amazing saving on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group , Jodiie said she would recommend others planning to do some DIY at home follow in her footsteps.

And it's been well received. Her post has received 1.8 thousand likes and 1.2 thousand comments of bargain hunters praising Jodiie, asking her questions and sharing their own finds.

In case you're worried about fitting the blinds yourself, Jodiie said no fixings or drilling were needed - so it should be a quick and easy process.

Cutting to size proved not to be a problem either - with the blinds being allegedly easy to adjust to your window.

If you want to buy  the same blinds , head to Wilko.com to shop the non-woven style in charcoal or white.

Prices start from £4 but the shop also has a variety of styles including a £25 velvet design.

Or instead, you might want to try these £3 Ikea blinds which customers have been raving on about .

The blinds, which come in white, can be cut to fit any size - and one woman even revealed how she revamped every window in her home for just £21.

The flat pack furniture giant is selling blinds for £3 online and in stores under the name 'Schottis Pleated blind'. It's described by the retailer as "easy to attach to your window frame. No drilling needed."

Measuring 90 by 190 cm, the blinds can easily be cut to size, allowing them to fit even the trickiest of windows. And there's no drilling required either as they can be stuck down using double-sided tape.

You can even pick up the black out version of them for £5.10 if you're an Ikea member in its latest promotion.

Posting online, one woman said: "Got my £3 Ikea blinds. Easily cut to size for my narrow door windows.

"Half up at the mo to let the beautiful sunshine in!"
