How Sabri Lamouchi could set impressive milestone for Nottingham Forest at Bristol City

A first win for Nottingham Forest since 2011 at Bristol City on Saturday would see Sabri Lamouchi notch up a couple of impressive milestones.

The new head coach has already masterminded four away wins in the Championship at this early stage of the campaign, but a fifth amid the often hostile surroundings of Ashton Gate would surpass the amount achieved throughout the entirety of last term.

Not only that, Forest have won five of their last nine away league games, as many as in their previous 38 road trips, drawing three and their only defeat coming at Wigan following the October international break - they were held to draws at Leeds, Charlton and Blackburn.

Standing in their way, however, will be a Robins side unbeaten in six at Ashton Gate and which has only suffered defeat in one of the last nine contests against the Reds – in fact, they’ve only lost one of their last 16 outings in all competitions under Lee Johnson.

City have become something of a bogey side for Forest in recent times, winning six of those nine outings, while on their travels, the Reds haven’t won in any of their previous six visits to Ashton Gate, their last coming in a 2011 when they were 3-2 winners under Billy Davies.

On that April afternoon in 2011, a brace from Kris Boyd and a Luke Chambers goal 18 minutes time cancelled out strikes by Marvin Elliott and Jon Stead for the hosts.

Last season, both sides played out a 1-1 draw on the opening afternoon of the Championship with Daryl Murphy salvaging a point for Forest, then managed by Aitor Karanka.

Meanwhile, Saturday's game will see Premier League referee Craig Pawson take charge of the Reds for the first time since a 3-1 win at Brighton six years ago.
