With five seasons of fan-pleasing, romance-filled, action-packed drama, and more to come, it's no surprise Outlander is one of the most successful shows in the world today.
The enduring romantic tale of historical fantasy that sees a time-travelling nurse find the man of her dreams two centuries in the past in the Highlands of Scotland first hooked book fans before making the transition to TV and making fans of the show fall in love with the story all over again.
And critics have been as filled with praise as the fans if top review site Rotten Tomatoes is anything to go by.
Outlander has received a top average score of 89% from critics and a whopping 90% from fans, putting it in a similar bracket to the likes of The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale and Marvel's recent smash hit Hawkeye.
Here is how each Outlander season rated (in reverse order) and what critics had to say:
5. Season five (Rotten Tomatoes score: 86%)
What the critics had to say: "Outlander's romantic ardor doesn't burn as bright in this fifth season, but the Frasers remain an enthralling pair as they try to forge a home together."
With the show now having switched to the other side of the Atlantic, the fifth season didn't seem to hit as hard with both critics and fans as previous ones had done.
One top critic wrote: "It further proves that a story doesn't end at happily ever after, it's just the beginning."
4. Season four (Rotten Tomatoes score: 88%)
What the critics had to say: "Outlander's epic romance settles into a violent fourth season, planting its flag on the American frontier while treading on darker themes."
Surprisingly, the much darker season four seemed to be less popular with fans, with critics awarding it 88% on average and fans only offering a meagre score of 84% on average.
As one critic put it: "Outlander is still highly Outlander-y, which will be heartening for its many fans to hear. But it's also not without moments that drag and some choppy narrative transitions."
3. Season three (Rotten Tomatoes score: 90%)

What the critics had to say: " Outlander 's epic love story returns with the same strong storytelling and an added layer of maturity."
Fans scored season 3 highly with an average of 93% and episodes like A. Malcolm reminding fans why they fell in love with the show in the first place.
As one reviewer posted: "Outlander's true north has always been its romance and Season Three understands that in spades."
2. Season one (Rotten Tomatoes score: 91%)
What the critics had to say: " Outlander is a unique, satisfying adaptation of its source material, brought to life by lush scenery and potent chemistry between its leads."
Surprisingly, it's not season one, the first to introduce us to our wonderful cast of characters which takes the top spot.
After it first aired, critics were impressed with a RT reviewer posting: "The series is a canny mixture of romance, fantasy, history, adventure, violence, sex, Druids, kilts, time-travel, and unkempt hair. In short, it has everything."
1. Season two (Rotten Tomatoes score: 92%)

What the critics had to say: " Outlander returns for a second addictive season of mystery and sweeping romance as Claire and Jamie take on Paris."
It's no surprise with episodes like Faith and Je Suis Prest, that the returning adventures of Jamie and Claire really began to dominate for audiences, with the blossoming romance beginning to mature and a trip to France really seeing the pair come into their own.
"To put it plainly: it is one of the smartest and most proactive shows on television, embracing love and passion and intrigue and refusing to apologise," wrote one clearly impressed TV critic.
