How Rodri is using business degree study to help Man City career

Playing every couple of days for Manchester City has not managed to put the brakes on Rodri's academic learning.

Rodri lived in student digs while he was at Villarreal doing a degree and while he has since swapped countries to pursue his footballing career he is not giving up on his studies. The Spanish midfielder is hoping to finish his exams in the fortnight break that the Premier League has introduced from February 2020 before starting something new.

While cramming has proven difficult with his schedule at City , it has been a welcome way of switching off from any defeats that the team have suffered in the opening few months of the campaign.

"I have learned not to let [losing] impact me as much. When I was a child and I lost I would cry and get angry," he told Marca . "It was unbearable for my parents at home and I carried that inside. I have learned now that losing is part of this world, even if sometimes people don't believe that. It's part of football.

"I like watching football, but, for example, with Liverpool you lose and it becomes very healthy to think about other things be that your family or your children. I don't have children so I dedicated that time to studying.

"My first goal is to finish the business administration and management degree, it's a personal challenge. Then I will surely do something, I like to have my head busy with many things."
