How rival fans have reacted to Manchester United's appointment of Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United have today announced the arrival of German coach Ralf Rangnick as the club's new interim manager.

The 63-year-old is seen as one of the godfathers of German football and will oversee all proceedings with the United until the end of this season.

Also agreed is that upon completion of his six month contract, he will then take up a two year consultancy role, overseeing decisions made both on and off the field.

The Reds departed with former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer early last week and have since opted to appointment an interim manager until the end of the 21/22 campaign before looking to sound out his replacement over the summer.

Rangnick, will bring a wealth of experience to Old Trafford and whilst it is not clear whether the remaining back room staff will continue along side the former RB Leipzig head coach, Michael Carrick will continue too oversee the side until the German's work visa has been ironed out.

As Reds fans all across the world have been reacting to the news of their new manager's arrival, MEN Sport has taken a closer look to see what rival fans have made of United's decision to appoint Rangnick on a short term basis.

As you can see, it is a mixed bag of reactions from fans of rival team, with opinion divided on United's new head interim manager.

With Arsenal next for the Reds, Rangnick will hope to oversee an upturn in results and performances for United.
