How Rangers and Celtic fans reacted to Jon Flanagan appeal success

Rangers found out today they won their appeal over Jon Flanagan's two-match ban.

The full-back was restrospectively punished after receiving a yellow card for elbowing Celtic captain Scott Brown.

But the red card has been rescinded after the Ibrox club successfully challenged the SFA's decision to hand Flanagan a two-game suspension.

It was a contentious moment in last weekend's Old Firm derby and both sets of supporters have waded in after the news was confirmed ths afternoon.

@garryhood1872  said: "No-one is disputing it should've been a red, but it was dealt with in the game. It was the ref's error not to show a red, that should be the end of it, simple."

@BigBabyBlanco  added: "SFA is a joke. No place for that type of behaviour in modern football."

Rangers slam Scottish FA for 'singling out' Jon Flanagan

@John_M_Oneill  tweeted: "It’s a red all day long. Ref made an a*** of it and gave him a yellow. That’s football sometimes. No conspiracy. Just complacency. Compliance officer has no right to give retrospective punishment unless the referee has missed the incident entirely."

@JBr1977  said: "You get all these dodgy decisions and countless penalties and STILL can't win anything."

@Razzcool1  tweeted: "Farcical, should get rid of the compliance officer, if every decision is overturned."

@stevenm030  added: "Fantastic. They can run about the park holding it on Sunday like a trophy."

Celtic legend Chris Sutton acknowledges Rangers dominance with stunning team of the week

@JohnMcIntosh19  tweeted: Flanagan is only getting away with it to hide the bias the compliance officer shows, how one incident can be different to another elbow due to club they play for is a disgrace."

@ishkha1872  added: "Quiet people get hee haw. About time we stood up to the corrupt."

@AMcKellar89  said: "Nobody has any idea what constitutes a red card anymore. The entire disciplinary process is a laughable mess."
