How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their second wedding anniversary at home

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Tuesday and according to new details, it involved Mexican takeaway and Zoom. As reported by Omid Scobie - who is penning the couple’s biography - the pair had a low key celebration at home in Los Angeles as they “reminisced” on their 2018 nuptials.

According to Scobie’s report for Harper’s Bazaar, the pair Zoom called with friends and family as well as a few of their wedding vendors for their 2018 ceremony. A source told Bazaar, “They all reminisced about what a beautiful and magical day it was.”

They also are said to have exchanged traditional second wedding anniversary gifts, which typically revolve around a cotton theme (though it is not known what they gave one another).

While many couples typically go out to a fancy restaurant for their anniversary dinner, theirs was slightly different partially due to California’s stay-at-home order. They instead opted for a number of Mexican dishes and a few margaritas.

Prince Harry and Meghan currently live in Los Angeles, after stepping down as senior royals on March 31. While they initially moved to Vancouver Island in Canada, they relocated earlier this year at the start of the coronavirus pandemic to Los Angeles - Meghan’s hometown and where her mother Doria Ragland lives.

Although they may no longer be performing official royal duties, they have continued to champion their charity patronages over Zoom call, with the pair supporting charities including WellChild, SmartWorks and the Hubb Community Kitchen. They have also been volunteering and brought food to at-risk individuals during the California lockdown.

They also shared a glimpse of their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on his first birthday, which saw Meghan read him a children’s book to raise awareness for the charity Save the Children.
