Earlier this week, we took a look at five potential 2020 draft targets for the Cincinnati Bengals. For this piece, we’ll revisit those prospects and recap how they did this weekend.
Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State

It was quite an easy and fun day for the Ohio State defense and they left no doubt against Northwestern in a 52-3 whooping of the Wildcats. Young just continued to show his stuff. He didn’t rack up the tackles, compiling just two, but he did have another sack, bringing him to 9.5 sacks on the season and continuing his streak of recording at least a half-sack in every game this season. Next on his radar is Jack Coan and the Wisconsin Badgers, who were stunned late by Illinois on Saturday.
Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State

As mentioned above, the entire Ohio State defense had no trouble Friday night. Okudah did not record a tackle but that’s because some teams just don’t want to throw his way because he can take a team’s best receiver out of a play and Friday night was no different. Okudah still has three interceptions and three passes defended in 2019.
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Tagovailoa did go 11/12 for 155 yards in Alabama’s 35-13 victory over Tennessee, but he did throw an interception. But the big story is that he left the game with a high ankle sprain and will miss at least a week or two. Fortunately, it’s a seemingly minor injury, just like we saw with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Alabama hosts Arkansas next week, then has a bye before the major matchup with No. 2 LSU.
Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Speaking of LSU, they have a pretty good quarterback themselves. Burrow had yet another excellent performance, going 25/32 for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Burrow now has 2,484 passing yards and an incredible 29-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. LSU hosts Auburn next week, then also has a bye before the November 9 showdown in Tuscaloosa.
Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The third of the quarterbacks we highlighted this week came away with a huge 35-31 victory over Washington as Oregon positions itself for a run at the Pac-12 championship. Herbert went 24/38 for 280 yards and four touchdowns. Herbert is now up to 1,882 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and a very impressive one interception through seven games.
