How popular Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea are on Match of the Day compared to Liverpool & Man United

Match of the Day continues to be a staple for every football supporter on a Saturday night.

The BBC institution allows fans to catch-up on the Premier League action across the afternoon.

Presented by Gary Lineker, millions of people sit down to watch the show every week and the running order is always a key point of contention.

Lineker is the first man to tweet the running order as he lets fans know who will be shown first.

The Mirror have now revealed how many times sides have been the first game on with Liverpool leading the way this season with 12 starts to the show.

While at the other end of the scale, surprise packages Wolves and Watford are yet to be on first.

Match of the Day 2018/19 - Times teams have appeared first

19) Wolves - 0 times - Yet to appear first on Match of the Day.

19) Watford - 0 times - Like Wolves, they have not been the first game shown this season.

18) Brighton - 1 time - Brighton's only first appearance came for the 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool in January

11) Huddersfield - 2 times - Huddersfield have been on twice first - 5-0 at Chelsea and 4-0 to Spurs.

11) Fulham - 2 times - Already relegated Fulham have been prime time twice this season.

11) Cardiff - 2 times  - Neil Warnock's side have also been on twice with their defeat at Anfield featuring.

11) Southampton - 2 times - The Saints have also appeared twice, with the recent defeat at Manchester United appearing first in February.

11) Burnley - 2 times - Only twice have Burnley been featured first on Match of the Day this season.

11) West Ham - 2 times - West Ham’s impressive win over Manchester United was of two first appearances.

8) Crystal Palace - 3 times - Roy Hodgson’s men have appeared first on three times, including their memorable 3-2 win at Manchester City

8) Leicester - 3 times - Their win over Man City is one of three times they have featured first.

5) Tottenham - 4 times - Spurs have only been on first four times this season.

5) Newcastle - 4 times -  Alan Shearer has seen four first games for his side so far this term.

5) Arsenal - 4 times - The Gunners have been the main event four times this season.

4) Chelsea - 5 times - Maurizio Sarri’s side have been on first five times.

3) Manchester United - 6 times - United continue to be a feature of the first game.

2) Manchester City - 9 times - The current Premier League champions have been on nine times as the first game this season.

1) Liverpool - 12 times - Liverpool's free flowing style and impressive form has meant they are kings of appearing first.
