How people in Bristol can find out if they've already had coronavirus

People in Bristol can find out if they have already had coronavirus by booking antibody tests.

The Bristol Covid Test Clinic, run by NHS professionals, is offering a £25 finger-prick blood test at four pharmacies.

You can go for a test at Bedminster Pharmacy in Cannon Street, Abbotswood Pharmacy in Yate, Ellacombe Pharmacy in Longwell Green and Kellaway Pharmacy in Westbury Park.

The website says: “The Covid-19 antibody test is a finger-prick blood test, with your results available in just ten minutes.

“The test indicates whether the body has developed an antibody response to the infection.

“Book your test now if you suspect that you have had COVID-19 in the last month or more. Please note that this is not a test for a current infection.

“Testing should only be performed 21 days after recovery from Covid-19 symptoms, or 28 days after contact with someone with symptoms.”

If you have a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, you should not take the test.

“You must wait a minimum of three weeks after having had symptoms before your test,” the clinic says.

“NHS 111 will tell you what to do and help you get a test if you need one.”
