Patrick Bamford has insisted Leeds United deserve to be promoted this season, even if the season is curtailed.
The Whites have sat at the top of the Championship since the season paused in mid-March, with a seven-point buffer over Fulham in third.
EFL revealed this week the tables will be settled on a points-per-game format if the season is curtailed, which would guarantee Leeds a place in the Premier League.
However, there is still a desire for the Championship season to be completed, with nine games to go.
Should the season be curtailed, Bamford would go down as the Whites' last goalscorer in a promotion-winning campaign, having netted their second against Huddersfield Town back in March.
Bamford explained that accolade would be one to share with the kids in years to come, while insisting Leeds have earned promotion, even if the season isn't completed.
"Probably have an extra couple of beers haha. To be honest, if that's the way it happens, I think we've done all we can this season to get up," Bamford told LeedsUnited.com.
"I think rightly so, if it finished now we've been definitely top two, maybe the best team in the league all season, so I don't think anyone can complain about us going up.
"I think if we went up now, one it would be just, and two, the fact I scored the last goal, it's just quite a good thing isn't it? To tell my kids when I'm older."
