How Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tactical note to Marcus Rashford fell into hands of Barcelona star

Manchester United were handily beaten by Barcelona on Tuesday evening in the Champions League but intriguing footage of how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to change the outcome has now emerged.

The Red Devils were already 1-0 behind heading into the quarter-final second-leg tie at the Camp Nou.

However, Manchester United started well and could have levelled the tie when Marcus Rashford went through on goal.

It wasn't to be early on for the Red Devils, who were made to pay for their missed chances when Lionel Messi bagged a quickfire brace.

That effectively ended the contest but footage has now emerged showing that Solskjaer changed his formation in the second half, only for a Barcelona star to get a sneak peak at a tactical note he made.

Solskjaer gave Rashford a hand-written note to pass on the information to his team-mates but the 21-year-old subsequently dropped it near the Barcelona penalty box.

Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen duly picked up the note and read it as the video below shows.

But what exactly did it say? It's rumoured that the note said what formation United should be lining up in after Solskjaer demanded they change to 4-4-2 after starting off in a 4-3-1-2 formation.

As for Rashford, maybe he will be a little more careful next time about accidentally giving the opposition a heads up on crucial changes. As it was, it didn't matter all that much to United in the end.
