How Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reacted to Daniel James' 'exciting' Man Utd debut

Daniel James made his Manchester United debut on Saturday in their opening pre-season game win in Australia.

United secured a win thanks to two second half goals from Marcus Rashford and James Garner, in a fixture that served debuts to both new signings James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

James himself put on an encouraging display in the first 45, impressing with his speed and work ethic, while copping three fouls in the first 25 minutes alone.

After impressing his new manager throughout pre-season training, it sounds as though he's made a solid first impression on his new boss.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of the result: "It was a game where we had the ball all the time, kept possession well, played against a well organised team that didn’t give us many gaps.

"45 minutes for most of them which was the main objective today, and of course winning games."

And on Welshman Daniel James' debut, the Red Devils boss added: "He started well, it was a good start and we’ll nurture him and it's exciting to watch him play many games."
