How old is Eric Cantona and when did he play for Manchester United?

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona is back on the football pitch as he takes part in Soccer Aid 2019.

The former Reds' star is among the former professionals and celebrities taking part in the game which is being played at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge.

Cantona, now 53, retired from football back in 1997 at the age of 30.

His final club was Manchester United where he spent five years, between 1992 and 1997.

In total he played 143 league games, scoring 63 times.

However many people will remember Cantona for THAT moment during an away game against Crystal Palace in January 1995, when he kicked a member of the crowd.

It resulted in him being fined and receiving an eight-month suspension from the game.

After retiring from football Cantona tried his hand at acting and has appeared in a number of films including Elizabeth and Looking for Eric.

This year's Soccer Aid takes place at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge, after previously being held at Manchester United's Old Trafford .

Soccer Aid co-founder Robbie Williams will be back alongside Mo Farah, former footballer Jamie Redknapp, TOWIE star Mark Wright, Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard, fitness coach Joe Wicks and F2 Football Freestyler Jeremy Lynch.

The charity match raises money for Unicef, which helps to support the organisations vital work protecting children in the UK and globally.
