How old is Billy Ocean? Singer's age and real name revealed as he performs medley on Strictly

A music legend will grace the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom on Sunday when Billy Ocean will appear on the show to belt out some classics and new material

After appearances on Good Morning Britain and This Morning over the summer to plug the release of his new album, the music megastar will switch channels to the BBC after Strictly host Tess Daly revealed he would be performing a medley of his hits on this week's results show.

Billy is the singer who has given us all manner of hits over the years from When The Going Gets Tough, famously covered and taken to number 1 by Boyzone; to Suddenly, Red Light Spells Danger and Get Out of My Dreams.

But, with new music to plug, his Strictly guest appearance may not have been too much of a surprise, his age definitely is!

And then comes the fact that he's not actually called Billy Ocean!

Billy was in fact born Leslie Sebastian Charles, on January 21 1950 making him 70 now.

Born in Trinidad & Tobago, he now lives in Berkshire with his wife Judy, and has done so since 1978. They have three children.

Announcing his Strictly appearance on Twitter, a post read: "Tune into @bbcstrictly this Sunday, November 22 from 7:25pm on @BBCOne to see Billy performing a stunning medley of hits.

"Which tracks do you think will be getting the live treatment? Trust us, it's going to be unmissable..."
