How Nottingham's Victoria Centre looks during second lockdown

It would normally be one of Nottingham's busiest shopping destinations at this time of year as stores head into the Christmas run in.

But the intu Victoria Centre is currently very different from its usual bustling atmosphere.

A lot of stores in the shopping mall have been closed during England's second national lockdown lasting until December 2.

The shopping mall is home to around 80 stores, but unlike the first lockdown earlier in the year, this time some more stores are being able to carry on offering click and collect services rather than being closed completely.

Only a few 'essential' shops remain open such as Boots and Tesco - as well as food outlets doing takeaway only.

The same goes for the Victoria Centre market, where a few stalls are able to stay open depending on what they sell.

Other stores had blocked off their entrances with signs up for the click and collect services only.

Cheerful music was still playing around the centre with the sounds echoing off the walls due to how few people were in there.

Onlookers reported a small amount of shoppers present in the centre on Monday (November 16), with all wearing face masks and following the social distancing regulations as they headed through the centre.

The huge Christmas tree in the middle of the mall had few passers-by stopping to admire it as we head towards the festive season.

One of the busiest stores was, unsurprisingly, Tesco at the back of the centre as shoppers picked up their essentials on Monday morning (November 16).

But there were no queues to get in and people were spaced out through the store.

The second lockdown regulations do not feel as inhibitive as the first time as March, and more people are definitely out now than seven months ago.

But the scene at the centre was a far cry from previous pre-pandemic years.

Here is the list of all the services available at the Victoria Centre between November 5 and December 2.
