How Nottingham Forest's transfer income compares to rest of Championship

The transfer drama for the summer is officially over, as the European transfer window slammed shut on Monday alongside that of League One and League Two.

An entertaining period saw plenty of movement across the Championship, with exciting new additions drafted in and some significant departures also occurring.

Nottingham Forest were busy, with four players departing the City Ground on Monday in total.

The headline sale was Arvin Appiah's £8m switch to Spanish side Almeria, while Daryl Murphy and Liam Bridcutt joined Bolton, with Jason Cummings moving to Shrewsbury.

Player sales can provide a major financial boost for clubs, particularly if the buying club is one from the Premier League - as Swansea City enjoyed after selling Daniel James to Manchester United.

The Swans’ total earnings were boosted significantly by that departure but it is Brentford that sit top of the pile, with Bristol City in third, West Brom in fourth and Leeds United in fifth.

At the other end of the spectrum, Hull City, Wigan Athletic and Millwall did not earn a single penny from departures, according to the data, while Reading and Stoke both picked up less than £1m.

While some deals, like Ben Osborn's move to Sheffield United are classed as undisclosed, others do have published fees.

You can see the full table below, with data courtesy of Transfermarkt 's expected deal values.
