How Nottingham Forest's players rated in win over Fleetwood Town

Nottingham Forest are through to the second round of the Carabao Cup after beating Fleetwood Town 1-0 at the City Ground.

Here, Matt Davies assesses how each Forest player performed on Tuesday night.

Brice Samba: Made one good save, two decent ones and got his body behind another effort. His handling was fine, but the new signing's kicking was poor on the night. 6/10
Carl Jenkinson: A steady debut from the former Arsenal man, who linked up well with Appiah in the first half. 6/10
Tobias Figueiredo: Did a decent job at the back in his first appearance of the season. 6/10

Joe Worrall: Captained the team and had a comfortable enough game with Fleetwood deploying one striker. 6/10
Yuri Ribeiro: Got forwards well from left-back. He won't replace Jack Robinson after one good performance, but showed what he can do. 7/10

Samba Sow: Did well when he was on. A mobile performer in midfield, fans will take to him. Would be no surprise to see him start against Birmingham instead of Ben Watson. 7/10
John Bostock: Was booked for a flurry of fouls and had two wild shots. Kept the ball well, but will hope to deliver more when match fit. 6/10

Tiago Silva: Got the goal and another 90 minutes of English football under his belt. Worked hard. 7/10
Arvin Appiah: Really bright first half when he was the best player on the pitch. Faded after the break, but he looks an exciting prospect. 7/10

Sammy Ameobi: A really good chance to push for a Championship start after doing well at Leeds. Didn't take it though as he made little or no impact on the game. 5/10

Rafa Mir: Like Ameobi, a chance to show what he can do. Like Ameobi, he did very little on the night. Was isolated as Lewis Grabban has been in league games, but didn't find a way to get into the game. 5/10

Tiago Silva put the Reds 1-0 up against Fleetwood (Ritchie Sumpter @JMS Photography)

Subs: Brennan Johnson (for Sow 65): Did a a nice job in the the centre of midfield alongside Bostock. Good to see the manager show faith in another Academy talent. 6/10

Matty Cash (for Appiah 75): Not much time to make an impact when replacing Appiah on the right wing. 6/10

Subs not used: Muric, Milosevic, Robinson, Richardson, Mighten
