How Nottingham Forest crowd energy could benefit transfer target Issa Kabore

Nottingham Forest's vociferous fanbase could provide the perfect environment for transfer target Issa Kabore to continue his development.

The Reds are understood to be tracking the 21-year-old's availability as an alternative to Djed Spence after he had an impressive breakthrough season in France. Kabore, one of a number of talented youngsters at Manchester City, has spent the last 12 months at the Citizens' sister club Troyes.

Kabore, an attack-minded defender, featured 31 times in Ligue 1. He also helped Burkina Faso reach the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations, where he was named young player of the tournament after registering three assists.

The City Ground is becoming an excellent environment for youngsters to improve with the likes of Brennan Johnson, Djed Spence and James Garner all thriving under head coach Steve Cooper. It means Forest could make a strong pitch to Pep Guardiola and his staff given Cooper's excellent reputation for developing young talent.

But it could be the incredible Forest fanbase which could be more of a help to Kabore. The Reds are known for their vociferous fanbase, regularly selling out at the City Ground and in away ends up and down the country.

"It's obvious. The support of the fans is very important," he told Ouest France. "As I play on one side, I am even closer to the public. As soon as I take the advantage over my opponent or make a run towards the before, I hear the support of the public. I can guarantee that it gives me extra energy. I am very motivated when I play in front of the fans.

"A lot of them come to see us play. I want to give fun for the fans, as much as I enjoy being on the pitch. Football is above all a game and also a source of entertainment. It is important to underline that."

Forest's support has received plenty of praise in recent weeks, including from fan-favourite Joe Worrall.

"Did you hear the fans? I mean, come on. They are absolutely fantastic,” said Worrall after the play-off final. "I love our fans. They are really, really good. They travel in numbers. They're very passionate.

“They understand the players. The connection between the players and fans has been miles apart in seasons gone by. Now, it's very, very tightly-knit. A lot of them come to the training ground. We have regular conversations with fan forum groups.

"Shoutout to Forza Garibaldi, Rogues Gallery, the supporters’ groups and all the people who put on the displays and do the photos and murals for us players. It doesn't go unnoticed.

"They've been fantastic. They've been behind us every single step of the way. Football is won in strange places. They are definitely a contribution to why we are back. You walked out at Wembley and there was a sea of red. It would have absolutely killed me if we’d lost, because, not only us, not only the manager, the fans so deserve it. I’m just so, so pleased for them."
