How Nottingham Forest could get Kamil Grosicki on a free transfer this summer

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Hull City's Kamil Grosicki this summer.

Reports have suggested that the Reds are lining up a £2.5m move for the Polish winger who netted nine goals and provided 12 assists for the Championship club last season.

The 30-year-old’s current deal at the KCOM Stadium expires at the end of next season, however it is understood there is an option to extend his contract by a further 12 months.

But Hull Live are reporting that the Tigers could be about to cut their losses and let Grosicki leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

With the player turning 31 next season, it is believed that Grosicki will have limited market value entering the final year of his contract, if no one comes up with a bid of note.

Grosicki was signed by Hull for £7m in January 2017 when the club were in the Premier League, and is thought to be commanding wages in the region of £25,000-a-week, totalling roughly £1.3m a year.

Hull Live also say that the Tigers are in no financial position to extend Grosicki’s deal at the KCOM, and it is thought that the player wants to have long-term security which would only come with a move away.

Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir have also been credited with an interest in the Poland international.
