How Nottingham Forest are going the extra mile in big charity fundraiser

Nottingham Forest are going the extra mile as they play their part in Football Shirt Friday.

Football fans across the country have been donning their club colours today, as part of the annual fundraising event.

And Reds supporters and staff have been getting in on the act.

The campaign runs to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK through the Bobby Moore Fund.

And this year, Forest are hoping to make a significant contribution, with a special offer they are running.

For today only, until midnight, £5 of any online purchase of this season’s home shirts will be donated to the Bobby Moore Fund.

It is the latest charity initiative from the club, with owner Evangelos Marinakis particularly keen to drive forward community support.

The Reds have been encouraging supporters to take part on social media, and club staff have also been wearing their favourite shirts.

Fans can send pictures and videos of themselves wearing their Forest tops to FSF@nottinghamforest.co.uk, to be in with a chance of featuring on the club’s social media channels.

The aim of the Football Shirt Friday campaign is for people to wear their favourite football shirt, share a selfie on social media and donate £5 to the charity.

Marinakis has recently been praised for the support the Reds have shown to a local charity during his time as owner.

Forest are backing Framework’s Homeless to Home challenge, a campaign initiated by the Nottingham-based charity to help tackle homelessness in the city and beyond.
