How Nicolas Pepe stunned his new Arsenal team-mates in very first training session

Arsenal confirmed the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille on Thursday sending supporters into a frenzy at the thought of their deadly new-look attack.

The Ivorian clinched a move to the Emirates when the Gunners agreed a £72million figure with French outfit Lille, despite their restricted transfer budget this summer.

After completing his medical on Tuesday, the 24-year-old put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal in North London and became the club's fourth summer signing.

Pepe also became the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history behind Paul Pogba , Romelu Lukaku and Virgil van Dijk from Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.

As the new season draws closer, Pepe got straight into training with his new team-mates and wasted no time in showing why the Gunners spent big on him.

He scored 35 goals in 74 outings for Lille during his two years at the club, but Pepe has proven that there is more to his game than just bagging goals.

He was swiftly humiliating his new colleagues with some cheeky skills during a 'rondo' session and the footage was quickly posted on the club's Twitter account.

The young forward attracted plenty of interest from several clubs this summer and knew it was vital that he made the right move for his career.

He told BBC Sport : "Being here is very emotional. I have come a long way and struggled a lot and so signing for this great club is a big reward. It was important to make the right decision and I am convinced that Arsenal is the right choice."

Gunners boss Unai Emery has been faced with the difficult task of strengthening his squad amidst financial restraints, but is pleased to have secured Pepe's signature.

He said: "Nicolas is a highly rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe. Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I'm delighted he's joining. He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team."
