How new Tottenham signing Jack Clarke fared in his first Leeds United match since Spurs move

Jack Clarke has made his first Leeds United appearance since returning to the club on loan as a Tottenham Hotspur player.

Marcelo Bielsa's side beat Guiseley 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at Nethermoor Park, West Yorkshire.

The 18-year-old started the game and won a freekick in a dangerous position in the second half, showing his vesatility to line up through the middle and later out on the left in the second half.

Last season, Clarke scored two goals and bagged two assists for Leeds in the Championship. He played 24 league games in total for United as they reached the play-offs for promotion to the Premier League.

According to coverage of the game by Leeds Live , the young attacker had a couple of moments during the match.

In 38th minute, with Bielsea's side moving forward again, Clarke showed good feet in the box to find Helder Costa on the left. He lofted in a cross only for it to be headed over.

After the restart, as he shifted out to the left, the teenager won a freekick, only for Mateusz Klich to strike it off target.

The player ratings from the game, again supplied by Leeds Live , saw Clarke scored six out of 10.

"His first appearance as a Leeds United loanee and this was another one that could classified as getting the rust off," said the report. "[Clarke] played across the front three and was guilty of running down the odd blind alley."

Spurs fans will have to wait until the 2020/21 season for their summer signing to link up with Mauricio Pochettino and his squad ahead of his first campaign as a member of the Tottenham squad proper.

"I'm delighted to sign for such a top club," said the Leeds academy graduate early in July. "It's still bizarre, I'm still getting my head round it at the moment, but it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down, it's one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world at the moment.

"Watching them in the Champions League this season, how well they're doing, the training ground, the facilities and obviously the bunch of players that are here, they're top, top players and I'm looking forward to playing with them and training with them.

"Hopefully I can take a few bits on board from them and progress myself."
