How new talent can join The South on stage at a Northumberland music festival this July

Organisers of a North East music festival are on the look-out for a rising star to share this stage this summer with headliners The South.

The team behind Gallagher Park Live Music Festival  in Bedlington - formerly known as Northumberland Live - are inviting talented hopefuls to apply for a chance to perform alongside their big name acts this July.

And the chosen musical talent will take to the stage during a special slot at the family-friendly festival on Saturday, July 27.

The winner will get to perform with not just The South - the headline act made up of members of The Beautiful South - but also more of including teen favourite Chloe Rose; father and son Jack & Tim, who appeared on Britain's Got Talent; and CBeebies presenter Sid Sloane.

Those keen to enter the talent competition are invited to record a video of themselves performing and to email it to meljigsawevents@gmail.com for judges to consider.

The free festival will run 11am until 9pm on the day. Find more about it on Facebook here .
