How new riverside neighbourhood between city's football grounds is progressing

These pictures show how a new riverside neighbourhood is taking shape between the city's two football stadiums.

Work is well underway on the £30m Trent Bridge Quays project on the banks of the River Trent, behind Notts County's Meadow Lane home.

Once complete, the development will include a range of apartments and three-storey townhouses, all with terraces either to the front or back.

More than half of the first phase of homes have been sold.

David Hofton, sales and marketing director at Elevate Property Group, said: “There has been a noticeable upsurge in enquiries about Trent Bridge Quays since lockdown was eased and viewings with social distancing and appropriate safety measures were permitted.

“This has accelerated since the Chancellor announced a temporary holiday on Stamp Duty up to £500,000, and we also have Help to Buy available to assist further those who are looking to purchase.

“Demand is strongest for a river view and buyers can choose from a range of homes that includes a one-bedroom luxury apartment from £192,500 to a three-double bedroom townhouse from £345,000.”

Elevate is currently building more than 90 townhouses and apartments at Trent Bridge Quays and 20 of the first phase of 38 have been snapped up.

The second phase, scheduled for completion next year, will include a further 40 apartments and 18 townhouses on the former Muller site, in Meadow Lane.

The company has also recently received planning permission for three riverfront duplex apartments, overlooking Tinkers Lock.

A restaurant or café had formed part of the thinking for the area - however, the developers said they no longer wanted to go ahead with this idea with more apartments now in the pipeline.

Estate agent FHP has been marketing the new properties.

Speaking in May, Steve Parker, director of FHP, said: “Trent Bridge Quays, the neighbouring Meadow Lane and the proposed Tinkers Lock apartments are bringing much-needed quality housing to Nottingham.

"And their proximity to West Bridgford and Trent Bridge, combined with easy access to the city centre, makes a very compelling offer.”
