'How? Must be an agenda' - Arsenal fans can't believe what Mikel Arteta has done vs Brighton

A long and arduous season is almost over.

Arsenal fans probably cannot wait for the final whistle to blow this afternoon and bring what has been a dismal campaign to an end.

The one thing, apart from perhaps qualifying for the Europe Conference League, which may be seen as a positive and a negative by some supporters, that fans have to cling on to today is the hope of finishing above arch rivals Tottenham, which has not looked a possibility all season.

Spurs have been above the Gunners all year, but going into the final day there is the real possibility of Mikel Arteta's men finishing above the Lilywhites in the final standings.

Arsenal must beat Brighton and hope Spurs fail to beat a Leicester City team gunning for the Champions League places.

In trying to do that, Arteta has named a strong side to face the Seagulls in front of 10,000 Gunners supporters at the Emirates today, making two changes to the side that beat Crystal Palace.

Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard come in for Mohamed Elneny and Bukayo Saka - which again means no place in the starting 11 for Gabriel Martinelli, despite his late goal at Selhurst Park.

As you can see from the tweets below it has left some fans less than impressed.

The Gunners will be looking to sign off their 2020/21 Premier League campaign in positive fashion, in front of the watching Josh Kroenke, who is set to make a rare appearance at the Emirates this afternoon.

Arsenal starting XI vs Brighton: Leno; Chambers, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Pepe, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang

Subs: Runarsson, Mari, Cedric, Elneny, Ceballos, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah, Lacazette.
